How to Prepare for the Unexpected on Your Next Road Trip

No matter how well you maintain your vehicle, there are times when an unexpected emergency may occur, like a blown tire. Unfortunately, roadside emergencies happen and it is best to make sure you are prepared if a situation should occur. Below are two tips from our auto service professionals to help you prepare for a roadside emergency.

  • Emergency Kit - It is important to make sure that you have a stocked emergency kit to help make the situation safer. Some items this kit should include are jumper cables, small tool set, flashlight, road flares or triangles, and a first aid kit. These items will help make dealing with a roadside emergency easier and safer.
  • Safety Check - It is important to make sure you are periodically doing safety checks on your vehicle. Make sure tires, lights, belts, hoses, fluids, etc are full and operating. Also, check to make sure your safety kit and first aid kit are stocked. While this will not prevent all roadside emergencies, it will help stop some and make sure you are prepared if one occurs.
